Men's Shed Volunteers Help with Recycle Smart Haz-Mat

May 15, 2025 A big shout-out to the Shedder’s who volunteered to help with the May 15th Recycle Smart, Haz-Mat collection event.  Last Thursday these Shedders braved the heat (almost 90) to help the public through the hazardous waste drop off-line:  Kevin Harty, Doug Haberland, Vic Milla and Scott Talcott (assisted by Ann Reichert).

This was very positive exposure for the Men’s Shed as several hundred cars and trucks came through the drop-off line where we had several logo signs and our guys were wearing yellow.  Of course!  On behalf of the Recycle Smart program supervisor Lydia G. a very heartfelt thanks!

Our next Haz Mat event is Thursday June 26th 11 AM to 6 PM.  Gary Wertz has already claimed the 11 to 1 slot, so sign up soon.

OUR GRAND OPENING A TERRIFIC SUCCESS!

October 26, 2024  - Everyone agrees.  The Grand Traverse Men's Shed Grand Opening hit the mark with attendance for the event higher than expected.  President Jim Novak credited the turn out to all the work the Shedders did before the event  "Our guys really put in an effort to get the word out.  We designed a direct mailer to target seniors in the area, put posts on Facebook and other internet media and sent public service announcements to local radio and TV.  We’ve heard from several guys that were unable to attend but are still planning to stop by.  Sixteen new members signed up on the day of the event and there are still more to come. Well done, Shedders!"

WELL DONE, MARINE!
